Big Blue Button Privacy Notice

Later this week we will be switching our BBB server from BCNET (where we have had bandwidth and processor speed issues) to a cloud-based server.

Although we are advised that this switch will address our bandwidth issues, one negative consequence of this switch is that you will no longer have access to recordings you have made of previous sessions using BBB. Accordingly:

  • We will soon turn off the ability to record sessions until the server is switched later this week.
  • If you wish to save a BBB session that you have recorded this semester, please email us at by Wednesday evening. We will archive this and send you a link to your recording (on Kaltura) that you can post in your course.
  • As soon as we have archived all of the necessary recordings on Kaltura, we will make the switch to the new cloud-based server.
  • We will give you advanced notice of when we will make this switch so that you know for which hours BBB will not be available (it will be during hours that do not impact most classes).
